At Ya Ya, we wholeheartedly believe in nurturing the precious playful spirit in every child, even in their elementary years! Our Ya Ya curriculum, which incorporates an educational model that focuses on experiential learning, is an excellent way to engage the attention of older children in an immersive Mandarin setting. Over the past few years, we’ve witnessed the success of our playful Ya Ya curriculum in our Summer Ya Ya program for older children. And we want to extend this incredible experience to our afterschool program.

Our goal is to focus on honing older children’s Mandarin comprehension skills, help them build more complex vocabulary, and most importantly, provide an immersive environment where they get to practice Mandarin in a meaningful and practical way. Although reading and writing will not be taught formally via a textbook in a rigid way, these skills will be acquired organically through topic discussions, stories and projects. Ultimately, we want to nurture the love for learning Mandarin and Chinese culture in every child.
