Our purposefully designed Specials Program further enriches the school day. From music and movement to STEM and Chinese early literacy, children explore new interests while building important skills in fun, hands-on ways. These diverse experiences make learning playful, meaningful, and unforgettable.
Specials at Ya Ya Preschool
The Ya Ya Specials Program is offered throughout the week, both in the morning and afternoon. Through Specials such as music and movement, cooking, STEM, art, yoga, and Chinese early literacy, children naturally develop musical awareness, mathematical reasoning, scientific inquiry skills, fine motor skills, and more.

📚 Chinese Early Literacy: introduce children to Mandarin through fun, hands-on activities that build awareness of stories, sounds, and characters—laying the foundation for lifelong language learning.
Strong Foundations in Literacy
Our Chinese Literacy Special, taught twice a week by our native-speaking teachers, is carefully aligned with classroom topics to make learning seamless and engaging. Children build key skills such as story enjoyment and comprehension, print awareness, and tone recognition, while also exploring Chinese characters through fun tracing and copying activities. Many of these early literacy skills also transfer to English which helps children feel confident and well-prepared when they transition to an English-speaking school.
